New in Town

Anko’s Sushi Push Pops at Louisville StrEatery

Louisville StrEatery

Tue-Sat | 11am - 9pm
Sunday | 12pm - 8pm

There’s a food hall off Southern Parkway that doesn’t get nearly enough attention. Louisville StrEatery has multiple vendors including Anko Sushi, which just released a menu item that’s been blowing up in cities across the country. Their made-to-order Sushi Push Pops are fresh and available every day, served in a push pop that’s easy to carry and eat on the go. The New York trend has finally made it to Louisville and I'm intrigued enough to make the trip over there soon.

Food Special

Taste of Louisville at Mellwood Arts Center

Taste of Louisville

Wednesday | 6pm - 9pm

One of the longest running food tasting events in the country is happening this week at Mellwood Arts Center. The Taste of Louisville has been going since 1974, and the 52nd edition on Wednesday will feature some the best restaurants and chefs our city has to offer plus craft beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits. This event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Louisville nonprofits over the years. 21+ only, tickets are $90 for GA, $320 for a four-pack, or grab a full reserved table for eight.

Halloween Pop-Up

The Haunted Lodge: A Spookeasy at Trial + Error

Trial + Error Bar

Tue-Thur | 11am - 10pm
Fri & Sat | 11am - 12am

For all of October, Trial + Error is turning into one of the coolest spookeasies in town. The Haunted Lodge will have floating candles, bat caves, a flickering fireplace, and a cocktail menu inspired by some of our favorite Halloween classics. We're talking a Nightmare Before Christmas pumpkin spice espresso martini, a Ghostbusters melon cocktail with melon slime foam, a Hocus Pocus sparkly ube and cacao drink, and a Saw-inspired hibiscus margarita with activated charcoal. 21+, no reservations required.

Date Night

Steins on Main at RePurposed

Louisville Downtown Partnership

Saturday | 2pm - 7pm

The RePurposed space downtown has always been one of those spots that feels exclusive, like you have to know someone and provide a password to get in. The 4th annual Steins on Main will be back at the venue on Saturday for its Oktoberfest celebration. Against the Grain and the Louisville Downtown Partnership are bringing more than a dozen local breweries, German-inspired cuisine, live music from Boom Pah Pah, and lots of contests including yodeling, stein hoisting, best dressed, and a schnitzel toss. Proceeds support LDP's mission of keeping downtown clean and beautiful, and $20 Uber vouchers will be available in limited quantities for the ride home.

Bring The Kids

PickleY’all at Park of the Four Fountains

Louisville.am

Friday | 3pm - 6pm
Saturday | 2pm - 7pm

Louisville is getting its first ever citywide pickleball festival this weekend, and it's completely free. PickleY'all is happening Friday and Saturday downtown with local food vendors, health screenings, live music, a kids zone, and tickets to watch the Humana APP Open. The event is wrapping up on Saturday with a free concert from Shaggy himself (they call him Mr. Boombastic) which is not something we expected to see at a pickleball festival but here we are.

Bring The Dogs

Barktoberfest at 3rd Turn Oldham Gardens

3rd Turn Oldham Gardens

Friday | 6pm - 10pm

Oktoberfest season isn’t over just yet. 3rd Turn Oldham Gardens is hosting Barktoberfest for you and your pups on Friday with everything from a dog costume contest and live music to adoptable puppies and pet vendors. Bring the dog and your matching Halloween outfits to one of the best beer gardens in the area.
