Fourth Street Live! turns into Louisville's biggest food festival on Saturday and Sunday, with 20+ vendors serving everything at $5 or less and your first drink included with admission. The Louisville Street Food Festival is filling the block with live music, axe throwing, mechanical bull riding, eating contests, a kids fun zone, and an artisan vendor market alongside food from around the world. General admission opens at 2pm with early bird pricing available, and kids 10 and under get in free.

Tuesday 7:30pm

Bush and Hoobastank are teaming up for a night of rock nostalgia at Iroquois Amphitheater this Tuesday. What better way to enjoy a summer evening at one of Louisville's best outdoor venues that's been around since 1938. Expect a set list full of rock hits you know every word to, like "Glycerine" and "Machinehead," from the days when MTV still played music videos.

Wednesday 5-8pm

Wednesday nights with the family just got a lot easier. Kids eat free at Gravely with every adult entree purchased, while screening a family-friendly film each week from 5 to 8pm. The food comes from Chef Eliana Lopez's scratch kitchen, the beer is some of the best in town, and the kids are entertained. Everyone wins. And for the beer drinkers who are against kids at the brewery, to quote Gravely: “you weren’t exactly beating down the door on Wednesday so let them have a day 😚”

If you and your dog are Jimmy Buffett fans, PG&J's is hosting a Sing-Along on Thursday that has you covered. Dust off the Hawaiian shirt, grab a LandShark, and sing along with the Derby Parrot Heads and DJ Phantom. There's also a taco truck, treats for the dogs, and a raffle going all night for Pets 4 Life. Humans get in free.

Saturday & Sunday starting at 4pm

Few events in Louisville are as genuinely one-of-a-kind as the Dainty Fest, back for its 56th year this weekend in Schnitzelburg. The two-day event kicks off Saturday with a parade from Monnik, a Merryweather carnival featuring Ohio Valley Wrestling, and a bologna sandwich eating contest. Everything wraps up Monday on George Hauck Way with the World Championship Dainty Contest, plus bologna sandwiches, live music, and the crowning of a new World Dainty Champion.

Dainty itself is a German street game brought to Louisville by immigrants in the early 1800s, using a broomstick bat to launch a small tapered stick as far as possible. The current world record is 173 feet, the traditional meal is a bologna sandwich with chips and a dill pickle, and the whole neighborhood comes out for it every year rain or shine.
