Highlight Event
St. Patrick’s Parade in the Highlands

St. Patrick’s Parade
Saturday 3pm
Bardstown Road turns green this Saturday as crowds line the streets for one of Louisville’s best traditions. The 53rd annual St. Patrick’s Parade marches through the Highlands with floats, family clans, and plenty of local Irish pubs along the route.
Hosted by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, this privately run charity based parade runs from Broadway and Baxter to Windsor Place with all proceeds going to charity. The free, all-ages celebration regularly draws crowds of more than 100,000 spectators.
Parade weekend actually kicks off earlier with the traditional Blessing and Tapping of the Beer on Thursday, starting at Goodwood Brewing. Clergy will bless the special beer and everyone involved in the parade before the festivities continue with a ceremonial keg tapping at O'Shea's on Baxter.
This is a Louisville tradition that’s well worth experiencing in person.
